Robert Burton Crockett, (Bob), 64, of Roanoke, passed away after a battle with cancer on Friday, May 12, 2000. He was born in Wytheville, Va. August 17, 1935. He was retired from Monumental Insurance Company, with 35 years of service and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a wonderful husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Betty Crockett (Buck); daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Stuart Kesler; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Mary Crockett; three grandchildren, Robby and Brad Crockett and Sam Duncan, all of Roanoke; lots of other relatives and his long-time golfing buddies at Botetourt Country Club. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2000 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Kenneth Lane officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
