Warren D. Heckmann, 94, of Spring Valley, passed away Thursday evening, November 15, 2018, after a short stay at Sheboygan Progressive Health Services.

Warren was born on December 7, 1923, to the late Cranston and Elsie (Lorfeld) Heckmann. Warren was a 1942 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School and proudly served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater in the latter stages of World War II. He was honorably discharged on November 6, 1946. On August 22, 1965, Warren married Janet Bell at First Reformed Church in Manitowoc. They had two children; Timothy and Steven. Janet preceded him in death on July 28, 2005. On October 6, 2007, Warren married Freida Woelffer at St. James UCC in Spring Valley.

Warren owned and operated C.F. Heckmann Company with his brother, Edward, for over 50 years. He took great pride in his work and was involved with the business into his 90's. Warren was a member at St. James UCC, Cleveland VFW Post 8974 and Hammond Organ Club in Manitowoc with Janet, a renowned organist. He enjoyed music, model trains, reading, puzzles, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Freida, Sheboygan; his two sons: Timothy (Michelle) Heckmann, Hudson; Steven Heckmann, Spring Valley; and his four grandchildren: Benjamin, Emily, Joseph, and Lillia. Warren is further survived by Freida's four children and their familes; his brother, Edward Heckmann; his sister, Elizabeth LaDuke; and brother-in-law Rev. Glenn Coleman and their families as well.

Warren is preceded in death by his first wife, Janet; his parents, sisters: Marjorie Coleman, and Bernice (Herman) Nass; sister-in-law, Gladys Heckmann; brother-in-law, David LaDuke; and nephew, David Heckmann.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 23, 2018 at St. James UCC in Spring Valley (13312 Pioneer Road, Newton) with the Rev. Dr. Ernest Huntzinger officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the Kiel Area School District (K.A.S.D.), where a memorial will be established to benefit local youth in need of assistance. Contributions may also be made to the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired.

The family would like to thank Sheboygan Progressive Health Services for the care and compassion shown to Warren and his family over the past few months. A special thank you to Freida and her family for the ten year adventure Warren enjoyed with Freida since 2007.
