Mrs. Alice Mae Cross, 86, a resident of Ray Hill Road, Wilmington, died Friday morning at her home following a long illness. She was born in Halifax on April 25, 1902, the daughter of Charles and Laura (Pratt) Worden. She received her education in the Halifax area. She was married to Leroy Cross on Jan. 20, 1977, in Brattleboro. Her home and her family were her main interests. She especially enjoyed sewing, embroidery with beads, and gardening. She had helped her husband with wallpapering and painting. Survivors are her husband of Wilmington; two sons, Myron Cross of Wilmington, and Leland Cross of Loyalton, Calif.; three daughters, Jane Lackey of Worcester, Ada Hildreth of Wilmington, and Linda Briggs of Bunker Hill, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Lura, died in infancy. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Blacketor, pastor of the Wilmington Baptist Church, officiating.
