Joyce graduated from Lansdale School of Business and worked for a time at Merck, Sharp & Dohme. She was an avid fisherman, gourmet cook, supreme hostess and volunteer. Joyce spent many years donating her time to various committees at Doylestown Hospital and was a decades long member of the Village Improvement Association.
She is survived by her daughters: Aine D. Ungar and Bridget D. Brennecke; her son: James J. Dougherty Jr., his wife, Rose Gorman Dougherty; daughter-in-law, Diane Mikle Dougherty; as well as her grandchildren: Jeremy Dougherty, Tierney and Rowen Brennecke, Harrison and Cole Ungar, Colleen and James Dougherty; and her great-grandchildren: Molly Dougherty and Nieko Moncrieff. Joyce was preceded in death by her eldest son, Patrick J. Dougherty.
Services and interment are pending.
