Michael Roy Tanner, 51, of Auburn, AL died Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Valdosta, GA.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church 212 12th St. Columbus, GA 31901.

he family will receive friends following the service at the home of Mr. Harman in Columbus, GA.

Michael was born November 8, 1967 in Athens, GA son of the late Roy Fernell Tanner and Nancy Jarrard Tanner.

He was a four-year baseball letterman at Mercer, Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Mercer University.

He was employed by Medicraft Clinical Services and was recognized as the Representative of the Year and inducted into the Hall of Fame by Medtronic.

He previously worked as Vice President of SunTrust Bank.

He coached Little League Baseball for years in Columbus and then in Auburn.

During his baseball career at Mercer, Michael was a first baseman and a pitcher. For his performance, he was named to the All-Conference team.

He is now a member of the Mercer Athletic Foundation Board, and in 2015 he was a Life member of Mercer University President's Club.

His hobbies include playing golf, coaching and spending time with his family.
