James "Artie" Benefiel, 94, of Warren, IN, passed away at 12:24 AM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN. He was born on Tuesday, March 18, 1924, in Madison County, IN. He married Ruth E. (Plummer) Benefiel on Saturday, July 01, 1944 in Van Buren Township; she passed on December 6, 2017 after 73 years of marriage. James "Artie" was a 1943 graduate of Van Buren High School. He served his country in the US Army from 1943-1946 serving during WWII. He had worked for DeWeese, Wayne Metal, and was a retired farmer. Artie was a member of the Van Buren United Methodist church, Van Buren American Legion # 368, and Mt. Etna Masonic Lodge # 333.
