Born in Monongahela, PA. He was the son of Charles, Sr. and Mary Lengyel Matus. He was preceded in death by his wife Alferetta (Freddie)Aloe Matus. Mr. Matus was a self-employed owner operator of Matus Service Station. He was a member of Wampum United Methodist Church, Tri State Racing Assoc. and was an avid race car builder, and owner for over 50 years.
He is survived by his son Gerald J. Matus, a daughter, Marilynn Matus Johnston, and 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren,two great-great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.
Mr.Matus was the second child of ten children.
