Barbara Jean Barnett Brannon, age 79 of Jacksonville passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 in Little Rock. She was born November 5, 1938 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Ernest and Nellie Blair Barnett. On October 24, 1959, she married Wayne Brannon in Cabot, Arkansas. Mrs. Brannon graduated from the Arkansas State Teachers College. She taught school for the Pulaski County School District for 31 years until retiring in 1992. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brannon served as the organist for the First United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church and the First Christian Church in North Little Rock. She and her husband loved to travel where she went on 20 cruises throughout her life.She is survived by her husband, Wayne Brannon of the home; daughter, Cindy (Tim) New of Sherwood; granddaughter, Sabrina (John) Smith of Ward.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cabot. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home & Crematory.
