MRS. MATTIE LOU EDWARDS
Mrs. Mattie Lou Edwards, 74, Taylor Street, died Sunday at a local hospital following several months illness. Funeral service Collier-Butler Funeral Home Tuesday 11 am with burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Surviving husband, Clarence Edwards; daughers, Mrs. Ruth Reynolds and Mrs. Barbara Alford, Gadsden; Mrs. Willene Price, Spartanburg, SC; sons, Bill Edwards, Columbus, GA; Roy Edwards, Stuarts Draft, Virginia; Franklin Edwards, Snellville, GA; sisters, Mrs. Eythel Blackwell, Mrs. Ellene McKeever, Mrs. Willie Belle Shotts, Birmingham; brothers, Raymond and Eugene Baker, Birmingham; 27 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was a native of Jefferson County and a resident of Etowah County for 49 years. She was a member of East Gadsden Baptist Church and Eastern Star Chapter of Birmingham.
