Mitchell Vernon Jones Sr., age 74, of Trenton, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015.
Vernon served God as a Pentecostal Minister in Churches in Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio and North Carolina as a pastor and counselor for 50 years; He shared God’s word through his ministry and song.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Ralph and Novella Prince Jones; grandparents George and Ellen Cuzzort Prince, Charlton Mitchell and Molly Owensby Jones; sister: Verona George Jones McDonald.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Barbara Holland Jones; daughters: Angela (Mark) Smith, Pamela (Thomas) Pardue; son: Mitchell V. (Claudia) Jones, Jr.; grandchildren: Terry, Sarah, Joshua, Craig, and Mary; Great-Grandchildren Harper, Violet, Dawson, Payson, Calvin, and Baby Culbert; sisters: Nancy Belk, Norma Boshears, Judy Barclay; brothers: Ralph Lynnes and Larry Jones; several loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Friday, September 25, 2015 in the Chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Williams, Bro. Nick Forshee and Bro. Mitchell Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Shantytown Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, GA.
