Barbara Marie (Scheck) Lang passed away on May 11, 2012 at McKee Medical Center Hospice Care Center.
She was born June 16, 1929 in Morland, Kansas to Elizabeth Dinkel Scheck and Joseph Scheck.
She was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers (oldest killed in World War II) and two sisters.
She received her education in Schools in Morland. Barbara married Alvin Leonard Lang on February 13, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1993. They had two children, Darlene Van Buren of Berthoud, CO and Mark Lang of Ft. Collins, CO. They had lived in several places in Kansas. In 1953, they moved to Stockton, KS and than moved to Ft. Collins in 1960.
In 1965, she began working for Hewlett Packard. In 1989, she retired as a supervisor. Each year since her retirement, she has organized the annual HP component breakfast.
Barbara was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where for 8 ½ years she made the coffee for Thursday morning coffee group. She volunteered for 6 years in the gift shop and 1 year at the front desk of McKee Medical Center. Barbara also belonged to the Red Hat Society, Loveland Senior Singles, Foothills Marathon, and numerous card and game groups. She enjoyed helping others learn to play cards and other games. Those that knew her knew how much she cared for her little black four legged Dachshund friend, Brunzie. She made the best pie.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Van Buren and husband Randy; son, Mark Lang and wife Karin; granddaughters, Jaimie and Arron Rogan, Tammy and Steve Rewerts, Dana and Scott Engelhardt; great grandchildren, Thomas Rogan, Logan and Audrey Rewerts, and Owen Engelhardt.
