Born May 4, 1916, in Greer, SC, a daughter of the late Thomas Weston McHugh (1878–1958) and Cora Maud Smith McHugh (1884–1926); wife of the late Samuel Lanham Chumley (1906–1955).
A talented seamstress, employed with Belk, and an avid gardener; a member of River Hills Baptist Church.
Last surviving member of her immediate family; survived by her son, Michael Chumley (Brenda); daughters, Betty C. Miller and Linda Blackwood (Harry); eight grandchildren; and numerous great and great greatgrandchildren.
Predeceased by two sons, Harold McHugh Chumley (1939–2007) and Thomas Smith Chumley (1944–2006); and two grandchildren, Marsha Copeland and Michael Scott Hodge.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Kent Smith.
