Marcia Johnson Newman, age 53, passed away February 6, 1993 after a long fight with cancer.
Born March 31, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold W. and Mary A. Johnson. She married Robert H. Newman March 4, 1960 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active LDS Church member, enjoyed music, teaching Primary children and directed many road shows. Held PTA president position. Especially enjoyed her seven grandchildren.
Survived by her husband; five children, Robyn Bullock (David), Reed Newman (Barbara), Maria Rowan (Mark), Jolene Newman, Julianne Johnson (Delmas); sisters, Shirley Dahl (Paul), Donna Isaacson (Arnold); grandchildren, Aimee, Bryan, Curtis, Graeme, Landon, Joshua, Harris. Preceded in death by brother, Ray H. Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, 12 noon at the Winder 8th Ward Chapel, 4366 South 1500 East. Friends may call at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Tuesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday at the chapel one hour prior to service. Interment, West Jordan Cemetery.
