Wayne Gardner Olson, 74, passed away October 25, 1991.

Born May 7, 1917 in West Jordan, Utah to Albert and Irene Gardner Olson. Married Shirley Steadman June 27, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served 4 years in the Air Force in World War II. Very active and faithful member of the LDS Church. He served in the East Central States Mission; District President in Long Beach Stake Mission; Ward Clerk for 9 years, and in many other responsible positions. Dedicated father and husband. Loved his grandchildren, the mountains, and the farm. Enjoyed traveling with the Sundowners Good Sam Club.

He overcame tremendous challenges and was a great example of perseverance.

Survived by dedicated wife of 39 years, Shirley; son, Robert Wayne and wife Susan, Otis Orchards, WA; daughters, Denise and husband Bill Daniels, Murray; Kathleen and husband Paul Sorensen, Midvale; 14 grandchildren; foster children Brenda Willeto, Mark Dodge and wife Heather; Rufus Yazzie; 6 foster grandchildren; brother, Reed; sister Ila Froerer. Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Vaudis and Maurine.

Funeral Services 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, Midvale LDS Stake Center, 425 Jackson, Midvale. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Tuesday 6-8 p.m., and at the Stake Center Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m.

Burial in the West Jordan City Cemetery.
