After attending Mather Academy in Camden, she went on to complete her Bachelors at Benedict College and later a Masters of Education at the University of South Carolina. She was a dedicated wife of 56 years to the late George Stokes. She was an Elementary School Educator for 34 years with Richland County District 1. Eula was very involved in numerous community activities and organizations. She was a longtime member of First Nazareth Baptist Church where she served on the Hospitality Committee, Deaconess Board, The Missionary Society, The Musical Choir, and Cancer Support Ministry. She was a dedicated and proud alumnus of Benedict College. She was a Co-Chair of the 1stBenedict Day, and involved in numerous boards and organizations with the college. She served with the Burton Heights/ Standish Acres Community Committee and was a volunteer with many community causes. She was also a member of the Columbia (SC) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Inc.
She leaves behind a son: Stanley (Terri); daughter: Natasha; two grandsons: Stanley and Terrance; brother: Walter Jackson; and many nieces, nephews and close family friends.
Interment following funeral service at Memorial Gardens of Columbia, 9301 Wilson Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29203. Bostick Tompkins Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
