Charles Henry Haynes, 152 W. College st., died in Canonsburg General Hospital 6:30 a.m., this morning following an illness of two years, seriously for eight months. He was admitted to the hospital Oct. 2.
The deceased was a train dispatcher for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 43 years, retiring 11 years ago.
He was the husband of Ada Kelly Haynes whom he married in Gladden, Pa., Aug. 6, 1908.
Mr. Haynes was the son of Thomas and Ellen Dooley Haynes. He was born in Crafton, March 21, 1885 and was the last member of his family.
Residing here for the past 43 years he was a member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, B.P.O.E. 846 and Loyal Order of Moose.
Besides his wife he leaves the following children: Thomas E., Canonsburg: Charles, H., East Orange. N. J.: Chester S., Canonsburg; Mary, wife of Albert Burns, Mifflin Boro: and Elmyra, wife of Wilbur Wayman, Lorain, Ohio. He also leaves eight grandchildren.
Friends are being received at W Leonard Griffith Funeral Home, where services will be held Friday, Oct 11 at 2 p. m.; in the charge of the Rev. Paul R. Graham, pastor of the Canonsburg Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Oak Spring Cemetery.
