Vivian Genevieve Harris of Garrison, passed away on November 4th, 2018 at the age of 88. She was born on October 7th, 1930 in Deering, North Dakota to Clifford and Tora (Kreiger) Harrington.

Vivian married Howard Harris on September 11th, 1948 in Stanley, North Dakota. They lived on the family farm in Coulee until they moved to Kenaston in 1952 where Howard managed the Peavey Elevator and Vivian did the bookwork. In 1965, Howard was transferred to Garrison where they lived together until Howard’s death in 1994.

Through the years, Vivian enjoyed bowling and golfing along with her family. One of Vivian’s favorite things to do was to meet and greet everyone at The Malt Shop.

Together, Vivian and Howard had 6 children; Wayne and Jeanie Harris, Perry Harris, Peggy (Dave) Zimmerman, Mark Harris, Patty (Rick) Fetzer and Pam (Aaron) Zimmerman. The families grew to include 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Vivian is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and also by her siblings, Helen Thompson, Gene (Kathy) Harrington, and Judy Kinsey.

Vivian was preceded in death by Howard, her parents Clifford and Tora, brothers Clarence and Leonard, sisters Ethel and Ruby.

Vivian’s children would like to extend a very special thank you to her Malt Shop family who loved her and treated her so well. We always knew where she was and that she was looked after and fed well!
