Brother of Clarendon Man Dies In Amarillo

AMARILLO, Feb. 22 - Funeral services for Horace Maynard Hefner, 73-year-old pioneer resident of Amarillo, were conducted at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon at the N.S. Griggs and Sons chapel.

Rev. E.B. Fischer, pastor of the Ellwood Park Presbyterian church officiated. Pallbearers were H. O. Hamrick, J.R. Neece, Hubert Cole, Frank Seeney, R.J. Broyles and John Lemons. Burial was in Llano cemetery.

Mr. Hefner died early Sunday morning at his home here following a long illness. He had been a resident of Amarillo for 28 years. He was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include five sons, J.L., A.C., C.F., J.M. and L.F. Hefner, all of Amarillo; four daughters, Mrs. W.C. Moore and L.L. Flynn of Amarillo, Mrs. Arthur Semiorth of San Antonio and Mrs. A.B. Lupher of Austin; a brother, A.O. Hefner of Clarendon and a sister, Mrs. Billy Barton of Sweetwater.
