Obie Elbert Pennycuff, 72, died Monday, May 14, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital in Beech Grove. Born Jan. 25, 1935, in Jamestown, Tenn., he was the son of Cletus Pennycuff and Pearl Ethel (South) Adkins. He married Ruth Agnes Augustin on Feb. 15, 1964, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Mary Kay Hildebrand of Fairland; son, Paul Nicholas Pennycuff of Shelbyville; sister, Pauline Garrett of East Point, Fla.; and grandchildren, Melissa Spears, Jamey Spears, Kaylee Hildebrand and Dylan Pennycuff. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Dewey Adkins; daughter, Connie Pennycuff; and brother, Bill Pennycuff.
Mr. Pennycuff had been employed with the Friesland Farm for 20 years and then at Ace Battery for 17 years, where he retired from. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Services were entrusted to Murphy Parks Funeral Home of Shelbyville, Indiana.
