Steven M. Fitzgerald, 55, of Connersville, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018, at Fayette Regional Health. He was born on April 16, 1963, and is the son of Susan (Kirk) Matthews and Michael Fitzgerald. On February 14, 1985, he married Debby Hall in Connersville. He is a member of Garrison Creek Baptist Church.
Steven was a fitness enthusiast, and especially loved running. He also enjoyed fishing and greatly appreciated music. He loved being with his family and making his grandkids laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Debby; his mother, Susan; three daughters, Kenya (Wayland) Lakes, of Greenfield, Rosemary (Dustin Purvis) Fitzgerald, of Morgantown, WV, and Cassidy Fitzgerald, of Connersville; a son, Samuel (Kolby) Fitzgerald, of Reno, NV; four sisters, Edie (John) Murphy, of Connersville, Trista (Tony) Abrams, of Rushville, Jenny (Bo) Ronan, of Connersville, and Lori (Steve) Flannery, of Connersville; a brother, Jeff Matthews, of Connersville; three grandchildren, Grayson Lakes, Avery Lakes, and Warren Lakes, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louise & Leo Bromagen, his step-father, Kirk Matthews, and his father, Michael Fitzgerald.
A private memorial service will be held for his family and church family on Friday, November 2, 2018, at 11:00am at Garrison Creek Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Fluty officiating. Urban-Winkler Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
