Martha Catherine Boren was born in North Carolina, March 13, 1843, daughter of Manuel and Julia Setser. She entered into rest at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jane Wall, near Iberia, Monday noon, August 12, 1940 at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 30 days.

She was married in early life to James C. Boren, after coming to Missouri they first established their home in Pulaski County.

To them were born thirteen children, four having preceeded her in death as well as her husband.

She has been a faithful member of the Christian church for 54 years.

She leaves a large number of descendants: five sons and for daughters, namely, John C. of Kellyville Okla.; W. S. of Perth, Kansas;
Chas. and J. A. of Hawkeye, Mo.; and Adams C. of Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. Jane and Geo. Wall of Iberia; Mrs. Martha Geer of Urich, Mo.; and Eva Fuller of Fresno, Calif.' One sister, Mrs. Ibbie Johnston of Iberia; and about 25 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 22 great great grandchildren.

Rev. John Phillips conducted the funeral services at the Madden Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon. Adams & Casey, funeral directors, were in charge of all arrangements.

How sweet to sleep where all is peace,
Where sorrow cannot reach the breast,
Where all life's idle throbbing cease
And pain is lulled to rest.
