Joseph Eugene "Joe" Fuller, age 86, born in Fruitdale, AL, and resident of Bay Minette, AL, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at his residence. He was a graduate of Auburn University and a member of Phi Kappa Phi. He established Fuller Insurance Agency in Bay Minette and served the community for 48 years. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church, he served many years as a Deacon and as Sunday School Director of Adult 1. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Era. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying many years of hunting, fishing and golfing, and music was a great part of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Betty Northington Fuller of Bay Minette, AL; two daughters, Jennifer (Eric) Johnston of Birmingham, AL, and Betsy Fuller Jones of Montgomery, AL; sister, Joan Fuller (Wade) Noland of Eufaula, AL, and four grandchildren, Geoffrey Johnston, Jenni Johnston, Nicole Johnston (Jesse) Sanders and D. Rush Jones III.
The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church Saturday, August 12, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 3:00. Dr. Chip Starnes and Dr. Henry Cox will be officiating. Burial will be Sunday, private interment.
Pallbearers will be Lyle Underwood, Tom Mitchell, Larry Taylor, Craig Helms, Sr., Dwight Steedley, and Jimmy Hardy. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles McKinney.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1628, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
