Her ashes will be laid to rest at a future date in the prearranged location next to her husband of many years, Emmett in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in the Headingley area outside Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

On Wednesday, March 29, 2018, at the Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge, BC, Cecile passed away at the age of 88 years of complications resulting from failure of her health.

Cecile was predeceased by her parents, Joseph (in 1957) and Marguerite (née Rebiffe, in 1983); by her husband Francis "Emmett" (1994); by four brothers, Paul (1987), Henri (2012), Albert (2008), and Emile (2016); and by her sister Irene Pilgrim (2014); also by her brothers-in-law Lyle Thomson (2002), Gene Morand (1998); and by her sisters-in-law Marlene (Albert, née Murray) and Aline (Emile, née Larmand); as well as by her grand-parents, numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

She will be fondly remembered by her sisters Marie-Ange Thomson of Coquitlam, BC, (her younger twin!), Annette Morand of Winnipeg, MB, and Helene Wood, also of Winnipeg, MB; her brothers-in-law Harold Pilgrim; of Edmonton, AB; and Alan Wood, also by her sister-in-law Edith (Henri, née Russin) of Winnipeg, MB.

Born on June 3, 1929 in Fisher Branch, MB, to parents who operated the local bakery, she married her husband of 41 years, Frances "Emmett" on July 18, 1953. Together, they lived in Winnipeg.

Several years after Emmett's passing, she moved to the Vancouver area to be near her sister Marie where they enjoyed many rounds of golf and being in each other's company again after so many years apart. Cece then established a new partnership with John. They lived in Maple Ridge, BC, until her passing.

Though she had no children of her own, she was godmother to some of her many nieces and nephews and a beloved aunt to all. They, their partners, spouses, and her great-nieces and great-nephews who came to know her, will all carry fond memories of her.

Her nieces and nephews:

Daryl and Christopher Thomson (Lyle and Marie)
Richard, Christopher, Brian, Theresa and James Dondo (Henri and Edith (Russin))
Paul, Brenda, and Brian Dondo (Albert and Marlene (Murray))
David, Deborah, and Ronald Morand (Gene and Annette)
Janice and Sherry Dondo (Emile and Aline (Larmand))
Karen, Robert, and Ali Wood (Alan and Helene)
