John Carl McQueen

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Temple Baptist Church in Petal for John Carl McQueen, 72, of 102 Lingle Dr., Petal, who died Saturday at Forrest General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

The Rev. Jimmy Yarbrough and the Rev. Doug Saxon will officiate. Interment will be in Blackley Creek Cemetery in Covington County.

Mr. McQueen was a retired carpenter, a member of Temple Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher, a member of Mt. Olive Masonic Lodge 264 and a member of the Gun and Reel Sportsmen Club Lake of Hattiesburg.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Avis McQueen; two daughters, Miss Hilda McQueen of Petal and Mrs. Patsy Ramsey of Petal; five brothers, Dudley McQueen of Jackson, Graham McQueen of Laurel, Ramsey McQueen, Truitt McQueen and Benny McQueen, all of Collins; three sisters, Mrs. Ocie Harrington of Collins, Mrs. Ora Chain of Mt. Olive and Mrs. Alma Vee Mynard of Syracuse, N.Y.; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
