Laura Ford, beloved wife and mother, passed from this life on Oct. 3, 2018, at the age of 92. Born in Udine, Italy, on Aug. 6, 1926, Laura married her husband, James, in 1955.
The couple moved to the U.S., living in several states, and settled in Fairfield in 1964. Laura worked as a teacher's aide at the T.C. McDaniel school for handicapped children. She was a volunteer at the NorthBay Hospital, and participated in a knitting group making quilts for hospice patients.
Laura was an amateur painter, whose works were displayed in local art galleries.
Laura had a deep love for her family, and held her family together through difficult circumstances.
Laura is survived by her sons, Frederik and Gerald.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield. Laura's ashes will be placed at Rockville Cemetery beside those of her husband.
