Rex Garner passed away September 13, 2018.

Rex was born in Sewanee, Tennessee to Earl and Anne Garner on February 11, 1934. The family relocated to Buttonwillow, California in 1938 where he attended elementary and Jr. High School. He attended Bakersfield High School and would meet his wife of 47 years, Mary Clark. Rex also attended Bakersfield College. He loved football and was very proud of playing on the Bakersfield College team which won the 1953 Junior Rose Bowl.

Rex and Mary were married in December 31, 1953, shortly after Rex would serve our country in the Army from 1954-1956. Upon his return he began his life long career as an electrician.

Rex never met a stranger. He enjoyed life. Rex was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners Club. He was President of the Shriners Club in 2002. He also donated his time taking patients to their chemotherapy treatments.

Rex was preceded in death by his wife Mary Garner, daughter Rexann. He is survived by his son Lance (Lola) Garner, grandchildren Vince Garner, Travis (Jennifer) Garner, Megan Garner-Deuel, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
