O. G. Baggett, 71, retired carpenter, died in his home at 5075 Dixie Garden Dr. at 3 p.m. Thursday. A native of Cairo, Ga., he had been a resident of Shreveport for the past 52 years.

He was a member and a deacon emeritus of Central Christian Church, a member of the Oddfellows, and belonged to local carpenters union No. 764.

He is survived by his widow; two sons, the Rev. W. L. Baggett, Fort Worth, Tex., and Thurston Baggett, Shreveport; four brothers, T. E., I. N. and C. S. Baggett of Shreveport and O. L. Baggett of Newellton; one sister, Mrs. J. M. Corley, Little Rock, Ark., three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in Osborn Chapel with the Rev. Harry Cunningham, pastor of the Central Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be J. N. Bogard, Vernon Webster, T. W. Burson, J. D Nugent, W. N. Sirman, D. D. Brister, L. L. Fielder and A. E. Gilliland. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. I. D. Rougon, Dr. H. M. Yearwood, Dr. F. E. DePriest, the Brotherhood Class of the Central Christian Church, the members of the official board of the church and the Carpenters Local 764.
