Guy Arthur Winters was born July 12, 1931 in Roxanna, Oklahoma to Mildred Hazel Thacker and Edward Dan Winters. He passed away peacefully October 21, 2018 at Elk City, Oklahoma surrounded by his wife and children at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 9 days.

Guy grew up and graduated from Preston High School. He was married to the love of his life, Jeannie Milliger on December 13, 1953 in Pratt, Kansas. Guy enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. After his discharge he returned home and graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma University in Alva, Oklahoma with a Masters Degree in education. He taught school in Harper and Medicine Lodge, Kansas. He joined the Bureau of Indian Affairs for the next 15 years where he was a guidance counselor in Toadlena, New Mexico and Ignacio, Colorado. Guy and Jeannie moved to Sharon, Oklahoma in 1982 where he was the elementary principal for the next 10 years, retiring in 1992. Guy enjoyed making barnwood crosses and cedar benches that he gave to family, friends and relatives.

Guy and Jeannie were currently attending the Grandview Church in Elk City. He had been an active member of the Sharon First Baptist Church where he taught a Sunday School Class. While in Ignacio, Colorado he was an ordained Deacon. He loved serving the Lord and mowed the church grounds and shoveled snow with his tractor for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alvin, Bob and Gary, 1 sister, Joy.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeannie, his children; Todd Winters and wife, Judy, Layton, UT, Marsha Smith and husband, Dave, Huntingdon, PA, Lori McCoy and husband, Todd, Elk City, OK, Susan Winters, Lafayette, LA; 12 grandchildren, Christine (Reston) Grosch, Jason Scribner, Joel (Bridgett) Scribner, Tiffani (Nate) Doan, Scott (Jennie) McDonald, Cody (Ginger) McDonald, Kyle (Katie) McCoy, Kathryn Varino, Malinda Varino, John-Michael Varino, Joseph (Carrie) Varino, Valerie Varino, 1 step granddaughter, Stephanie Theisen, 14 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Joe Winters and wife, Karleen, Tulsa, OK, Kenny Winters and wife, Janet, Hutchinson, KS, Don Winters and wife, Donita, Mountain View, AR; 1 sister, Karren Totten, Haysville, KS; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Heinz and Doris Way both from southern California, brother-in-law, Bill Milliger, Denver, CO; special friends G.W. and Bobbie Taylor, Jack and Eva Matlock, Ed Hodge.
