JOAN BRITTON, RETIRED HAMBURG TEACHER
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan Britton, a teacher in the Hamburg Central School District, will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 66 E. Main St., Hamburg. Mrs. Britton, 63, died Tuesday (March 14, 1995) in Roswell Park Cancer Institute after a lengthy illness.
Born in Angelica, she graduated from Angelica Central High School and earned her degree from Buffalo State Teachers College in 1953.
She taught for more than 30 years in the Hamburg area, primarily as a resource and remedial reading and math instructor, before her retirement in 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Britton-Moore of Hamburg; a son, Robert M. of Hamburg; and three grandchildren. (christian)
