Robert B. Britton, district deputy of the Third Erie District, Grand Masonic Lodge of the New York State, died Wednesday (March 31, 1993) in his Town of Hamburg home after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Britton, 64, a native of Angelica in Allegany County, was a graduate of Wilsonian High School in Angelica.
He served in the Navy at the end of World War II and attended Bryant & Stratton Business Institute and Erie Community College.He worked in the production engineering department of the Ford Motor Co. and retired in January 1992 after 41 years.
He became a Mason when he was 21 and as a member of the Ismailia Temple and received the Shrine's "Legion of Honor" award in 1979. He held many offices and received numerous honors as a Mason and Shriner. He also belonged to the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, the former Joan Dodge; a daughter, Barbara Moore of Hamburg; a son, Robert M. of Hamburg; a brother, Richard of Marietta, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Loomis, Offers & Loomis Floyd Hess Chapel, 207 Main St., Hamburg. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Town of Hamburg.
