Edith May Naber, 92, of Carrollton, died Monday, October 22, 2018, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jerseyville. She was born May 17, 1926, in Carrollton, the daughter of Roy and Opal Adcock Thomas. She married Florian Naber on April 3, 1945, at St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1994.
Edith is survived by a son, Joseph (Eve) Naber of Perrysburg, NY; four grandchildren, Suzie Grooms of Carrollton, Don Emily of Alton, Roy Naber of IA, and Kim Naber of KY; two great grandchildren, Kaihlec, and Blake; and a aunt, Ruth Adcock of Carrollton.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Naber; and daughter, Teresa "Terry" Grooms; a son-in-law, Charles Grooms; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Thomas.
Edith was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, and an honorary member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She worked as a CNA for several years a Memorial Hospital in Springfield. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, and baking.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton, with burial at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton.
Memorials are suggested to the Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
