He was born Sept. 1, 1882, in Burrell Twp, a son of William and Martha Jane Shaffer Beatty. He was a coal miner and a painter by occupation, and was a member of the Elderton Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel Bleakney Beatty of Elderton and one son, Homer C. of Alliance, Ohio; his step mother, Jane A. Beatty, of Vandergrift; step children, Lester Irwin, of Warren, Ohio, R.D. 1; Mrs. John (Mildred ) Leightner, Shelocta R.D.; Mrs. William (Annie Mae) Buck, Jeanette; Mrs. Lucille Irwin, Shelocta; Mrs. Paul (Sarah) Brown, Elderton; two brothers, Addison Beatty of Indiana; Pa., one half brother, Calvin Beatty of Vandergrift.
Services were held Monday, July 6, at 2:30 P.M. in the Elderton Presbyterian Church by his Pastor, William S. Merwin, D.D., with burial in the Elderton Cemetery.
