Services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018, for Brenda Bericia Blyden, who died peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2018, at her residence. Brenda was a former Corrections officer at the V.I. Bureau of Corrections, including working special assignments on the security team for Gov. Dr. Charles Turnbull. She was also a member of the Hugga Bunch Carnival troupe for many years and participated in activities with the V.I. Carnival Committee from 2013-2015. Services will be held at Christchurch Methodist Church in Market Square on Saturday. Tributes will begin at 10:00 a.m. with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in Eastern Cemetery following the services. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Samuel; father, Joseph E. Blyden; and sister, Glenett Blyden.
