Maureen Ryan Cook, 74, of Valparaiso passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born May 9, 1944 in Evanston, IL to William & Helen (Jones) Ryan. Maureen was an avid reader of history and mystery novels, a connoisseur of old movies, lover of flowers and crossword aficionado. On December 10, 1966 she married James J. Cook at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chesterton, he survives along with their children: Kristin (Lou) DeLuna, Michael (Kim) Cook & Ryan Cook, siblings: Mary Cook, Dennis (Ruthann) Ryan, Michael (Laura) Ryan, Kevin (Amanda) Ryan & Robert Ryan and grandchildren: Alexis & Trey DeLuna and Garret, Ethan & Denali Cook. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Therese Horlocker & Larry Ryan. Fr. Doug Mayer officiating with cremation to follow. Entombment of urn will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chesterton. Memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association or St. Agnes Adult Day Care Center.
