Thomas Presley Daniel, 86, of Columbus, KS passed from this life on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Tom was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado on January 22, 1932 to the union of Albert Garold and Nettie Emma (Long) Daniel.
Tom was united in marriage to Floydine (Weaver) Daniel on July 10, 1951 in Bentonville, AR.
Tom was a great man; whose life influenced many people by his example of what a Christian should be. Tom was an exceptional neighbor and was always there to lend a hand anytime someone needed help. Tom was a lifelong farmer and cattleman. He was an avid hunter with trips to Colorado, Wyoming, and Western Kansas, with his son’s and friends. He especially loved taking his grandchildren hunting, and four wheeling around the farm.
Tom served on the First Assembly of God Church board in Baxter Springs and later at Spring River Assembly of God Church, Riverton, KS for numerous years. He also served twelve years on the Riverton School Board.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mendy McDowell; two sisters, Ophelia Durbin, and Edith Devore; two brothers, Ivan Daniel, and Roy Daniel.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Floydine of the home; four sons, Tom Daniel and wife Stacy, Terry (Tank) Daniel and Kay Turner, Tim Daniel and wife Sandy and Ted Daniel and wife Tracy; one sister, Rita Cramer; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with multiple nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Spring River Assembly of God Church, Riverton, KS.
Burial will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m., at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Grandson’s will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Convoy of Hope in care of the funeral home.
