Eleanor Lang, 91, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at Via Christi Village, Manhattan.

She was born on July 2, 1927, in Walker to Joseph P. and Agnes (Dinkel) Brungardt.

She married Anthony “Tony” Lang on May 27, 1947, in Walker. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed working alongside her husband on the farm in Norton County. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Densmore, and later a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Norton. She moved to Manhattan in 2016.

Survivors include a son, Bernard J. Lang and wife, Rose, Rapid City, S.D.; a daughter, Sharon Zierlein and husband, Lynn, Manhattan; two brothers, Linus Brungardt, Winfield and Valerian Brungardt, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Henrietta Brubaker, Belleville, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Dreiling, Victoria, and Rita Brungardt, Wichita.

Six grandchildren, Aggie Schamberger and husband, Ryan, Parker, Colo., Laci Doering and husband, Hank, Manhattan, Katie Nuzbach and husband, Jeff, The Woodlands, Texas, Gage Zierlein and wife, Megan, Marysville, Ben Lang and wife, Kim, Rapid City, S.D. and Steele Zierlein and wife, Jen, Benton, Ark.

17 great-grandchildren: Maxine, Vince, Mavis and Blair Doering, Manhattan, Eleanor and Amelia Schamberger, Parker, Olivia, Lucy, Kanon and Riggs Zierlein, Marysville, Nikolena, Catherine and Anthony Lang, Rapid City, William and Andrew Nuzbach, The Woodlands, and Wesley and Ruby Zierlein, Benton; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Gregory, Dominic, Herman, Joseph and Edwin; a sister, Amelia Hammerschmidt; and an infant sister, Henrietta Brungardt.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria. Visitation will be before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Great Lakes Caring Hospice Foundation in care of Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, Manhattan.
