Ann Billingsley was born June 13, 1920 in Vienna, Austria. She was the daughter of Julianne Menzel and Josef Czak. Her early education was in a Roman Catholic Convent and later she was a graduate of a hotel management school in Vienna. She married Tristan Hafner in Vienna in 1940. To this union one daughter. Maria Elisabeth, was born. Ann spent World War II in Austria and Germany under Nazi Domination. She married William Billingsley after World War II and Ann and Maria came to the United States where they became citizens. Ann's last employment was as an Iowa Liquor Store Manager in Pella for several years. She retired in 1984 and moved to Mesa, Arizona. She is survived by her husband, Gene, her daughter, Maria E. Anderson, 3 great granddaughters, and a great great granddaughter. Also a half brother, Josef Czak and his wife Doris of Vienna, Austria. She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands. Cremation was handled by Mountain View Mortuary in Mesa, Arizona.
