Mrs. Cathy Duncan Stephenson, age 62, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday afternoon, May 26, 2017, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

She was born March 5, 1955, in Carter County, a daughter of the late, Cecil and Lorene Bryant Duncan.

Cathy was a member of the Unity Baptist Church and she enjoyed attending church services and spending time with her family. Some of her favorite hobbies were researching genealogy, looking through old photos and meeting new people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Andrew Richard Dailey; one brother, William Lee Duncan; one sister, Mary Catherine Duncan; one brother-in-law, Burnice Carroll; and one sister-in-law, Judy Duncan.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Richard Stephenson; three daughters, Christina Lorene Perkins, Rachel Raye Sparks (Lucas Arlon), and Judy Beth Stephenson; five grandchildren, Austin Brown (Jackie), Mason Dailey, Garett Sparks, Galvin Sparks and Oliver Perkins; seven brothers, Dillard Duncan (Barb), Vernon Duncan (Connie), Oather Duncan (Linda), Carmel Duncan, Howard Duncan (Ella), Carlos Duncan (Diane), and Stevie Duncan (Leshia); four sisters, Arlene Bishop (Bob), Bonnie Mabry (Paul), Martha Carroll, and Ruth King (Steve); and lifelong best friend, Mary "Tootsie" Yerian. She also leaves many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the Unity Baptist Church on Mills Branch Road in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Jason Johnson and Brother Dewayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Roar Cemetery in Grahn.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Unity Baptist Church on Mills Branch Road in Olive Hill, with a church service beginning at 7 p.m.
George Tomlin, Austin Brown, Mason Dailey, Garett Sparks, Galvin Sparks and Lucas Sparks will serve as pallbearers.
