Catherine Baker, 67, Dies at Chatfield
Chatfield, Minn. -- (Special)-- Mrs. Catherine Lena Baker, 67, died at her home in Chatfield at 4:30 p.m. Friday from a lingering illness.
Catherine Nelson was born near Plainview, September 11, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson. She was married to Edgar E. Baker May 17, 1899, at Chatfield, where she had since lived. Mr. Baker died in 1928.
She is survived by two daughters and one son. They are Mrs. Wesley Raivell and Mrs. Merlin Jervis of Chatfield and Silas Baker of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, William, Rochester; Frank, Marine City, Mich.; Edward in Illinois and John, Pequot, Minn., and by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A brother, Fred, died six years ago.
She was a member of the Methodist church and the Degree of Honor Lodge.
Funeral services were held today at the home and at the Methodist church. The Rev. George H. Chant was in charge. Burial was in the Chatfield cemetery.
