There they fell in with Brigham Young and his Mormons, became converts, and joined them in their long trek through the wilderness in search of a haven. That was in 1847, while the country in which they finally settled was still owned by Mexico. Asenath Ann Adams was born about three weeks after the Mormons ended their wild and dangerous journey.
