Based on extensive DNA analysis and information from Earl Higginbotham, Agnes Higginbotham was likely the daughter of William Higginbotham, soldier of Montgomery County VA, who was on the west waters of Big Flat Creek in Bedford County TN from 1809-1813 per deeds prior to his estate having been settled in Lawrence County AL in 1822.
Based on the same research and DNA analysis, her siblings were Elijah Higginbotham of Rutherford County TN; Aaron Higginbotham of Franklin County MS; Moses Higginbotham of Washington County VA and the Upper East TN, who married 1) Elizabeth Farris and 2) Lucy Wright; and William Higginbotham II, who was in Bedford County TN, Lauderdale County AL, and then MS.
