Lawrence Franklin Davis, 73, of Haynes Road died Tuesday evening at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Mr Davis was born in West Dover on Nov 22, 1907, the son of George F. and Katie (Cooper) Davis. He attended schools in West Dover and Wilmington. He worked as a logger, carpenter and millwright and had been employed by Haynes Brothers in Wilmington for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, the former Annette Howard, whom he married Dec 17, 1927. Other survivors include three sons, Gene and George of Wilmington and Michael of Nantucket, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs Bernice Sullivan of Wilmington; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Dunn of Tavares, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m at Covey & Allen Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. Paul Blacketor, minister of Wilmington Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. There are no calling hours at the funeral home.
