Patricia Ann Hedges, of Girard, Kansas, formerly of Pittsburg, Uniontown, and Arma, Kansas and of Kingsville, Texas, passed away Friday, September 21st 2018 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 67. Her husband, Jon, and family were by her side.
She was born Patsy Ann Davidson on March 24th, 1951 to Orval "Shorty" and Imogene Davidson and later changed her first name to Patricia. She was the oldest of four daughters and enjoyed her relationships with her sisters immensely. She attended Roosevelt Junior High School in Pittsburg, KS and Southeast High School in Cherokee KS, and later graduated Ft. Scott Community College, School of Cosmetology and worked in cosmetology for a number of years. Some time later she worked at the Girard Medical Center as a Food Preparer, and most recently as a Dispatcher at Linkway Communications. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 99 in Kingsville. Previously she worked as a Customer Service Rep for Dina Manufacturing and did secretarial work for Barry Tractor.
From 1988 until just recently she setup and ran sound for many Southeast Kansas artists. She ran sound for many Harold Whites Blues and Barbecues, featuring artists and bands as of the following: Lemme Shepard, Steve Malcolm, Snarley and Bawlin' Blue, Mister X, Azure, Brimstone Coolers, Loco Motives, Tom Rhodes and HSG, Marty Mac and HSG, Scott Smith, Shane Jeffries, Shana Lynette, Johnny Gobetz, Little Buddah Joe Robinson, Mike James, Boe Varin and many others. She was active in a consulting capacity working out of Phil Ward's Woodland Studios on The Blues Cartel Album featuring Phil Ward, Steve Allen, Shana Lynette, Joe Robinson, Zero Frazier, Stan Stuckey, Jamie Ortelani, Lemme Shepard, Randy Herron, Lonny Crawford, Scott Smith, Brad Bunch, Dennis Clark and her Husband. She handled all of her husband's business and booking, with and including Chuck Battalia. And as of most recent Daren Sorrick's Digital Marketing Concepts. Many of the artists mentioned are the biggest and best in the area.
In the late 90's she and her husband helped raise her niece, Sarah McIntyre Marti, and her nephew, John (Orson) McIntyre, both of Lamar, MO.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Jon Kurtis Hedges and a son, Michael Dean Arnold (Spencer) of Dallas TX, sister Gayla Sue Omeck of Cherokee, KS, and sister Mary Jane Davidson, of Pittsburg, KS, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, son Daniel Lee Arnold, Jr., of Santa Monica, CA, and her sister Sandra Jean McIntyre, of Pittsburg, KS.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Cherokee, 211 S. Vine, Cherokee Kansas 66724 at 3pm, Saturday October 6th, 2018 with close personal friend Daren Sorrick officiating. A memorial dedication will also be held March 24th 2019 at 3pm in Cherokee Cemetery, and all friends and family are encouraged to attend. Condolences may be sent to [email protected].
