Samuel R. Walker, age 72, of Sunnyside, WA passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 peacefully at home after a long battle with COPD. He was born April 14, 1946 the 2nd son of Trufurd and Zelma (Mullican) Walker. He received his early education in California and later received his GED. He married Brenda Rice, the love of his life on November 7, 1964 in Tipton, CA.Sam was in a horrible car accident during his high school years, however the Lord was not done with him and he and Brenda went on to have 2 children, Sam Jr. and Wendy. Life took them to the Lake Stevens, WA area where both children were raised. Sam was a commercial and residential Electrician in the Puget Sound area for over 30 years with most of his career working with Rob’s Electric, Inc. He was co-owner of the electrical company Walker’s Electric, Inc. for more than 10 years. In 2003, he and Brenda moved to Sunnyside where he continued to work as an electrician until health issues forced him to retire. Outdoors was his passion. Sam loved to fish and hunt and loved spending time in the outdoors with his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories spent with his family and friends hunting and fishing.

Sam is survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda of Sunnyside, WA, son Sam Jr. (LeeAnna) of Bovill, ID, daughter Wendy (Steve) of Sunnyside, WA, his brother Don Walker of Porterville, CA, sister Karen (Lee) Brodniak of Copalis, WA, brother Rick Walker of Moses Lake, WA, four grandchildren, Samantha (Neil) Hollo of Naselle, WA., Alexandra (David) Huntley of Bovill, ID, and Collin and Ryan Clapp of Sunnyside, WA. He also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren, Elycia, Lali and Samuel Huntley as well as many nieces and nephews. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Trufurd and Zelma Walker and his sister Geraldine (Jeri) Paszkeicz.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Astria Sunnyside and Heartlinks Hospice for his care over the past few weeks of his life. A special thanks to Sarah Clark of Heartlinks for her kindness and care in his final days. A Celebration of his Life will be announced at a later date.
