Gladys Mack Huff passed away on February 4, 2018 after a brief illness. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at The Church of Ascension, with Reverend Joseph Daly officiating.

Mrs. Huff was born on January 3, 1926 in Longview, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Willie Mack. She grew up in Springhill, Louisiana and graduated in music and voice at Texas State Christian Women’s University and Louisiana State University. She was an alumnus of Tanglewood Music Center and studied and sang opera under Boris Goldowsky. She also sang opera under the direction of Leonard Bernstein and Charles Munch.

Mrs. Huff was married for 58 years to Dr. Thomas Huff, a periodontist, who predeceased her in 2014. They settled in Atlanta, Georgia where, among her accomplishments, she was the director of the Atlanta Opera Theater.

Predeceased from Mrs. Huff are her sisters, Dorothy Mack Strain, M.D. and her husband, Thomas Strain, M.D. and Dr. Jeanne Mack Gilley and her husband, Dr. Billy H. Gilley.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Mack Attrep of Lafayette and her brother, Donald Mack, M.D. of Shreveport, Louisiana. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces, Gregory M. Attrep of Houston, Jeanne F. Attrep, M.D. of Phoenix, Arizona and her husband Dr. John Hayden, Thomas H. Mack of Shreveport and his wife Maude, Gene Mack, M.D. and his wife Jan of Shreveport, Cindy Mack of Shreveport and Susie Mack Aguillard, M.D. and her husband Neil Aguillard, M.D. of Memphis, Tennessee, Lynn Strain Yancey and husband Steve Yancey of Shreveport and Carol Strain Clemons, M.D. and husband Dave Clemons, M.D. also of Shreveport.
