Anne Proctor Wood, age 88, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at UNC Johnston Health in Clayton. Born January 9, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Lilly Avery Godwin. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William K. Proctor, and her second husband, Odell Wood; brother, Billy Godwin; and sister, Marguerite Stevens. Anne was a member of the Way of Life Baptist Church. She worked at the Chamber of Commerce in Clayton for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Way of Life Baptist Church with Rev L.E. Godwin Jr, Rev Tim Stevens, and Rev Scott Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her son, William S. (Steve) Proctor and wife Linda of Clayton; brother, L.E. Godwin, Jr and wife Judy of Clayton; sister, Carolyn Winstead of Selma; grandson, Tony Proctor and wife Karen of Apex; grandson Andy Proctor and wife Christina of Cary; and great grandson Brady Proctor.
