Ellen P. Richardson (Nee Effinger) Wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 81.

Ellen will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 57 years and best friend Robert (Bob) Richardson and children Michael (Wanda) Richardson, Nicole (Dan) Flanagan, and Michele (Rob) Riesterer and by her beloved grandchildren Leah, Mariah, Patrick, Michael, Lauren, Faith and Kayden.

Ellen was born in Muscoda, Wis. and graduated college from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. Ellen taught third grade in West Allis for 10 years. She and Bob settled in Waukesha where they raised their three children. Ellen continued to teach as a substitute teacher in the Waukesha Middle and High Schools, teaching nearly every day for over 20 years.

Ellen most enjoyed time with her family, gardening, camping and traveling the world. She created a picturesque backyard where she and her family and friends spent much of their time. Her grandchildren brought her such joy and kept she and Bob busy. It was common to attend multiple sports, 4H events, and dance recitals – all in the same weekend.

Ellen was an active member of St. Anthony on the Lake Parish, teaching catechism and volunteering in many capacities over the years. She also belonged to a bridge club with her best friends for over 40 years, as well as a book club through the Waukesha Public Library. Ellen always had a smile for everyone, was an intelligent conversationalist and writer, amazing mother and friend, and served the Lord throughout her life with grace and unwavering faith.

Loved ones that preceded her in death are her parents Ervin and Valeria Efinger, brothers Dick and Bob Effinger, niece Tammy Effinger and nephew Greg Effinger.

Visitation at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280 N2101 Prospect Avenue, Pewaukee, WI 53072, on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
