Joe H. Cramer, age 75, of Baxter Springs, Kan., passed into Heaven from his home after a lengthy and courageous battle with emphysema and lung cancer.
Joe was born July 17, 1931, in the Five Mile area south of Baxter Springs to the union of Clarence and Ruby Fry Cramer.
He was a member of Peoria Baptist Church.
He worked for the Baxter Springs Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 1985.
Joe married Nellie Ann Harris July 5, 1949, in Bentonville, Ark. She survives at their home in Baxter Springs.
Other survivors include his two daughters, Debbie Steele and husband, Ron, of Baxter Springs and Connie Asbury and husband, Steve, of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Mike Cramer and wife, Valerie, of Los Banos, Calif.; his two brothers, Norman Cramer and Rocky Cramer; and two sisters, Beulah Gaston and Phyllis Brown. Joe is also survived by five grandchildren, Andy Harris, of Lubbock, Texas, Mistee Underhill and husband, Dale, of Baxter Springs, Leslie Weston and husband, Craig, of Baxter Springs, and Raine and Colby Cramer, of Los Banos. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Chandler and Abbey Jo Underhill and Jade and Lilly Weston.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Cramer.
