Obituary for Hazel Kathleen Grant Lennep
Hazel Kathleen Grant Lennep, 83, of Moss Point, MS, passed away in Pascagoula, MS on Saturday, September 22, 2018. She was born to the late Harold L. Grant, Sr. and Irma Hults Grant on February 14, 1935 in Pascagoula. Hazel lived most of her life in Moss Point, MS. She was a homemaker and avid Saints football fan and vegetable gardener, who frequently shared her produce with friends and family. She worked beside her husband, James E. “Elwood” Lennep at the family business for several years.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Grant, Jr. and sister, Glenda Grant.
Hazel leaves her loving husband of 63 years, Elwood and daughters, Anita Hamilton (Eugene) of Lucedale and Judy Allen (Barry) of Big Point. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shelby Hamilton (Colter), Alyssa Allen, Ethan Lowery, and Brian Allen; great-granddaughter, Adaline Hamilton-Bowles; and brothers-in-law, Gary Lennep and Warren Lennep (Ann); along with other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 1NC at Singing River Hospital for the exceptional care they provided to Hazel.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12 noon with Bro. Michael Perry officiating. Interment will be held at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point with Mike Lennep, Wayne Lennep, Billy Hardin, Brian Allen, Eugene Hamilton, and Barry Allen serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lionel Dale, Jr. and Steve Phillips.
