Gertrude was born in Fall River and was the daughter of the late J. Leo Trepanier and Gertrude (Clough) Trepanier.
Gertrude was a 1944 graduate of BMC Durfee high school. She was a longtime, member of the Westport Council on Aging where she enjoyed her time with the knitting group. Gertrude also had a passion for indoor gardening and was well known for her famous African Violets. Most of all, she was a devoted caregiver to her parents and cherished the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Robin L. Mulligan of Somerset, Cynthia A. Cupp and her husband John of Virginia and David L. Vigeant and his wife Jacqueline of Providence, RI; sister, Claire Nadeau and her husband Douglas of CA; brother, Allan R. Trepanier and his wife Diane of Westport; grandchildren, Megan E. Tavares and her husband Craig, and Casey A. Mulligan and her husband Matthew Arruda; her beloved great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Armand Trepanier.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, May 20, 2022 in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St. Somerset with Prayers and Words of Remembrance.
Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
